Not in a cybercrime way! We’re talking snackable, bite-sized hacks that make life easier and help us work smarter.
Here are some of our favourites.
Speed & Navigation
• Ctrl + Backspace → delete an entire word at once (faster than hitting Backspace 10 times).
• Shift + F5 → jump back to the last place you edited in the document (saves scrolling).
Formatting Magic
• Ctrl + Q → clears paragraph formatting (indents, spacing).
• Format Painter (paintbrush icon) → copy and paste formatting, not just text.
Hidden Superpowers
• Quick Parts (Insert → Quick Parts) → save snippets of text you type often (like a mini personal template bank).
• =rand(3,4) → generates 3 paragraphs of 4 sentences of random text (great for testing layouts).
• Alt + Drag with mouse → selects text in a block/column (perfect for tables or cutting out vertical lists). You’ll need to press Ctrl + C (to copy) and move to where you want it, then press Ctrl + V (to paste).
If you want to turn text into a table, use:
• Select the text → go to Insert > Table > Convert Text to Table.
• Or use the shortcut: type text separated by Tabs → select → Insert → Convert.
